Thanks to all of you who sent us updates and videos of the Auburn game! Our temperamental internet service acted up last nite. We missed the first part of the game and little bits here and there. We DID see the ending! We didn't wake the neighbors, but we did wake up little Peter. He came all sleepy-eyed down the stairs to see what we were hysterical about. What a great game! It took everyone a long while to get to sleep, even tho it was 2:30 am (except Ellie, she checked out early on the sofa). It was a great birthday present for Drew Preston, who turned 13 during the game, Poland time! Thanks to all of you who have sent him messages. I read them all to him this morning and he was grinning ear to ear. Last week Karolina and Peter found a cake pan at the store that they HAD to have for Drew Preston's cake. It was a choo choo train. I didn't have the heart to tell them that it wasn't my 13 year old boy's style, so we got it. I warned Drew Preston about it (without telling him exactly what it was ). He was such a good sport about it. I actually made a cake from scratch (thank you allrecipes.com!). The train pan had little sections in it and there were 9 train cars altogether. Perfect for our family. Karolina and Peter were thrilled that he liked it. :)
Craig and the 3 older boys have gone to Berlin. It is only a 5 hour drive from here to there and we thought this was an opportunity to take advantage of. Peter and Sarah Jane SQUALLED when they left. Peter started it and Sarah Jane joined in. When she started wailing,"Taddy! Taddy!" I thought Craig was going to cancel the trip. They got away and the kids settled down. They have spent the day eating (shocker), playing castle with the girls being princesses and Peter as the guard, playing outside and now they are watching Monsters University. Sarah Jane gets really tickled when they say Sullivan. :) The boys will be back on Tues. nite. I may be ready for the loony bin by then.
Praying for a couple days of calm. Also, we like the train birthday cake:)...
ReplyDeleteIs that a new "Tucker hat" Drew Preston is wearing? His is the first birthday to be celebrated with the new family, his first birthday as a teenager, his first birthday in Poland, his first birthday with three sisters and three brothers watching him blow out candles and now he is on his first trip to Germany. This one will be hard to top.
ReplyDeleteHang in there till Tuesday, you just have four kiddos like you did when you arrived.... ; ^ )
That last picture of DP and his cake... with Tucker singing in the background... that cracks me up. =) Esp. since Karolina and Peter are more interested in watching him than the candles. =) Also, I like the English phrase posters in the background. =) -Natalie
